B School Affaire & Dewang Mehta Business School Awards organized the annual awards for B school students to promote next generation leaders on 4th & 5th Nov, 2009.   Around 23 students were shortlisted based on their all round capabilities through resume shortlisting or through nomination from management schools across India. The finalists were given 5 minutes to give a short extempore presentation on "Why should I be chosen as the best student in management". This was followed by stress interview & thorough questioning by 20 odd jury members, who were a part of top management/HR of various companies. Students were quizzed on their past achievements, future plans, technical questions and also on ethics. In addition to this, students were also judged on their presentation, body language & handling pressure.   After a stiff competition, Sundar Rajan G S from IIM Bangalore was chosen as the "Dewang Mehta's Best Student in Management". During the pitch, Sundar spoke about his accomplishments in NIT Trichy, work experience at Google & positions of responsibilities held at IIMB, while laying a strong emphasis on Coffee With Sundar (http://coffeewithsundar.com), a passion which he has carried along with him for the past 2 years. He also articulated his career goals of becoming a professor in B school by 2025, while focusing on finance/consulting careers in the short term. In addition to the excellent communication skills & composure which he exhibited during the pitch & the stress interview, Sundar's emphasis on "Contribution to the management ecosystem" helped him win the award in a tough contest between 23 smart young leaders of the future.    Sundar Rajan from IIMB was awarded a citation, a trophy and a cash prize of INR 200,000/- at the award ceremony. Top 10 finalists were awarded with a citation & a trophy. Sundar said - "It was a great experience & an excellent learning opportunity. I think the students were really smart and it was a very closely contested competition. The process was exciting and I am happy with the outcome"
