One of those few is RangDe.Org.RangDe is the brainchild of Smita Ram and Ram N. K that enables individuals to create a social impact by lending small sums of money to rural entrepreneurs. It all started in 2008 when Smita and Ram alighted themselves in Social entrepreneurship to fight against poverty by making RangDe transparent and sustainable way of maing difference.

Maya Care“Helping the Elderly be Independent”

India is fast conforming to the norms of modern society. The advent of modern life styles means more working couples and more nuclear families which leaves our senior citizens out in the cold. Manjiri Gokhale Joshi is one social entrepreneur who has thought about this quandary and has come up with a way to make life easier and independent for our elderly.

From the time of its inception the mission of TiE has been to foster conscious entrepreneurship globally by Educating, Mentoring and Networking:

  • Educating - Inspires and educates budding entrepreneurs
  • Mentoring - Provides role models and one-on-one mentorship through experienced entrepreneurs and support system like VCs, service
  • Networking - Regular conferences, workshops, and networking meetings providing a platform to forge relationships. e.g. 15 TiE chapters in India collectively roll-out 300+ programs for entrepreneurs every year.

Treating and aiding those with physical and mental handicaps, is a calling that requires one to be of great faith. Anand Koti has the faith and uses all his capabilities and talents to innovate new solutions to old questions. A second Dan black belt in Karate, Anand is also a psychology graduate dedicated to helping his fellow human. He spoke to Yourstory about his life’s work and Colorss Foundation saying “Colorss Foundation is a registered trust in India working towards the mainstream integration of the marginalized population through psychological, social and professional training and rehabilitation. Through the broad spectrum of its goal, the foundation handles various disability issues involving physical and mental handicap.”

Amit Lall, Founder: United Force of India

Leaving behind his family and a flourishing garments business across India, Mumbai based businessman Amit Lall is on a misson to unite the youth of India on one platform to fight against social injustice. Amit has started an organization called ‘United force of India’ which works towards the welfare for the people and has its centers all over India.

After he nearly lost his mother in the ill-fated 26/11 terror attacks on Mumba, Amit resolved to do something for his country and embarked on a mission to unite the people of India on one platform where individuals and groups could work and provide mutual assistance for the welfare of the people.
