Anyone who believes that you cannot dance your way to fitness or be physically tested by a dance routine has not stepped inside the Fast Forward Dance studio. Darryl Neves runs the Fast Forward Dance studio where you learn to dance in easy to learn steps and also work up a sweat.

  Yourstory learnt from Darryl about how he transformed from a teacher of the performing arts to an Entrepreneur.

He told us about how his studio works saying “Fast Forward Dance studio was set up in 2006 with the main idea of getting people to de-stress and build their immunity levels/posture through dance. Common social dance forms like Jive, Chachacha and salsa was incorporated into a package and taught to students. From a single location in 2006 FFDC has at present 6 locations besides providing personal training and grooming in dancing and also choreography for show/sangeets. FFDC has also recently moved towards conducting corporate dance workshops.”

“The idea behind the concept is to give people the maximum exposure to different dance forms by just enrolling for one dance class. A collective course of 16 hours entitles students to learn the 3 focused dance forms which will help them to be comfortable dancers socially. Corporate dance classes/Personal dance classes/sangeet choreography module depends on personal demands.”

Darryl plans to host dance workshops at College festivals, and introduce weekend special group workshops to popularize his style of dance fitness. There are also going to launch refresher courses which will include an advance level for students who have completed the course. His hopes for expansion are pinned on expanding their circle of influence.

Entrepreneurship has bought many bounties into Darryl’s life. His favorite among them has nothing to do with monetary rewards. He says “It’s the personal satisfaction that I get when I am complimented (feedbacks) by my students that is the biggest booster which made me take a big decision to shift to entrepreneurship.”

Friendship has been a great help to Darryl and helped him through rough periods. He says “Biggest challenge was initially trying to market and start classes. Once the students were in, it was referral. Also because of a good friend Mamta (Tribal route) who introduced me to networking which initially was nerve wracking to understand…but her patience and my hard work paid off.”

Running a labor intensive venture Darryl has had little worries in the way of seed money. He has found his yardstick for achievement and says “Biggest growth is my students enjoying themselves and coming back with friends for more fun.”

He gave up a regular job to realize his visions, and is constantly motivated by

“The passion of dance”. His quest to create innovative dance programs and have many more centers is in the process of becoming reality.
